Meet the Pilots

Jeff Cook, an avid helicopter enthusiast and pilot from Lone Mountain Aviation, has seamlessly merged his passion for flying with his career. With extensive flight experience exceeding 10,000 hours, Jeff has explored diverse realms of helicopter aviation, including assisting air ambulance teams, fighting wildfires for the US Forest Service, supporting construction projects with heavy lifting, and even making appearances in movies like “Need for Speed,” “Tenant,” and the renowned TV show “Yellowstone”. His personal favorite flight takes him over the picturesque landscape of  Ted Turner’s Flying D Ranch and through the awe-inspiring Spanish Peaks. When not airborne, Jeff finds solace in camping and fishing with his family and embarking on thrilling bear and mountain lion hunts with his two boys and six faithful hounds.

Dillon Kundert, an experienced pilot with Lone Mountain Aviation, brings 20 years of helicopter piloting expertise to the table.  He owes his entrance into the field to the encouragement of his high school friend Jeff Cook, a fellow pilot at Lone Mountain Aviation, as well as his aircraft mechanic father. Dillon’s career has predominantly been in air medical services, boasting over 700 successful medical flights and a notable contribution in aerial firefighting. Flight hours 5,000+.   The most awe-inspiring sight he has witnessed from the sky is the Northern Lights dancing over Montana.  However, his favorite flight path takes him over the captivating Spanish Peaks, where he often encounters mountain goats, elk, and buffalo amidst the jagged peaks and serene alpine lakes.  Beyond flying, Dillon indulges in his passions for hunting, hiking, and restoring old cars, often accompanied by his wife and two kids.

Sean Kelly, a pilot at Lone Mountain Aviation, developed his aviation fascination in childhood, starting with remote control airplanes.  He obtained his pilot’s license at just 17, progressing to become an aircraft mechanic, study aviation in college and eventually, acquire a helicopter license.  Sean’s passion solidified during his first helicopter ride at 20.   It was then that he realized that “airplanes are a mode of transportation and helicopters are a magic carpet”.  With over 3,200 helicopter flight hours, he has engaged in tourism, maintenance, utility, and construction in Hawaii and Montana. Sean’s favorite flights combine activities with a flight like heli-camping or fishing.  He also loves watching cloud formations, rainbows and exploring untouched places.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, flying his three aircraft, dirt-bike riding and camping.
